It has been a long absence, almost seven years since I had left the blogosphere. In that time, I had embarked on a new career, settled into a new city, become a homeowner, gotten married, dabbled in parenthood....
And that's just the beginning.
I've decided that the past seven years are akin to a vast landscape. Through that wide expanse I have journeyed. It has been a pilgrimage of sorts, at times joyful, at times disparaging. This blog is the mapping out of that journey, the "cartography of if". For within "if" lies the possibility of what could have been and what could still be. And somewhere between the two are the days and hours, minutes and seconds of what had been.
In this blog, I shall be the pilgrim and cartographer, but also the landscape. Through this mapping, I in turn am mapped, revealing the depths that have to this point lay hidden, marking the gradations up to the apex of my selfhood.
I can only stand and gasp at the wonder of it all.
